Yes, Lord, I Believe

Two days after being summoned, Jesus returned to Bethany because Lazarus had died. Lazarus had two sisters, Mary and Marth. That day, Martha went to meet Jesus.

"'Lord,' Martha said to Jesus, 'if you had been here, my brother (Lazarus) would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.'
Jesus said to her, 'Your brother will rise again.'
Martha answered, 'I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.'
Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?'
'Yes, Lord,' she told him, 'I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.'" John 11:21-27

I remember my first morning in Jerusalem, Israel. First of all, I could not believe I was there...this place I had read about so many times in the Bible. The room, the light, the smell, the feel, the sounds, the view right outside the hotel window, they remain clear to me as if it'd just happened.

Later in the week, our group would walk the road past Bethany, uphill, and see the view of Jerusalem's east gate (sealed) across the Kidron Valley.

I am thankful and blessed to have visited the Holy Lands. Truly, gives hands-on experience and visualization to the Bible as one reads it.

But - what REALLY matters is when

Jesus says to YOU, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives, and belives in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
Will YOU answer, "Yes, Lord. I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world."
